Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. Are you an aspiring or more experienced system engineer with a keen interest in hydropower, electricity generation and network technology?
Our group works with the operation and management of IT/OT systems in Vattenfall Vattenkraft's plants throughout Sweden. This means a large geographical spread of plants, which means that communication and network technology are very central to our business. This applies both between plants and within a plant. In addition to the most common protocols for IP-based communication, we also work with so-called process-related systems where we come into contact with industrial protocols that occur in process / automation.
We who are part of the group are based in Jokkmokk, Luleå and Sundsvall. Despite the distance, we work closely together in a helpful and open work environment. Our work is varied and you are offered good opportunities to be involved in influencing how we develop and manage critical IT / OT solutions at a time when hydropower is a very important part of Sweden's total electricity mix.

The work as a system engineer in network technology is creative at the same time as we have clear regulations to relate to. All parts of our work are characterized by IT security where we must challenge ourselves and stay ahead.
Our main work involves the operation and management of network components, such as switches, firewalls, wireless solutions, WiFi and LoraWAN.
We also work a lot with documenting and describing existing systems and integrations in text and with the help of modern tools. We work with systems that have high requirements for both availability and IT security. We place great emphasis on collecting logs to superior systems for monitoring.

Requirements
You may have extensive experience in network technology or be a recent graduate with some work experience. Either way, know that you will grow with us.
Do you recognize yourself in any of the following areas?
- Certification in any of CISCO's, CheckPoint's or Fortinet's products
- Working with IP-based networks, understanding the function and configuration of WiFi access points, switches, firewalls and VPN
- Good understanding of routing in IP-based networks
- Experience with industrial standards and protocols, such as ProfiNet, IEC-61850, IEC 62439-3/HSR-PRP and RNRP
- Experience with DHCP and DNS
- Knowledge in information and IT security
- Experience in everything from designing IT infrastructure solutions to technical project management and implementation support
- Automation/scripting for example with Ansible.
As a systems engineer, you will need to use both your curiosity and deductive skills in various situations to move forward. The work involves both teamwork and independent work. You will be given the opportunity to travel in the service and be met by magnificent hydropower facilities and knowledgeable colleagues around the country.
You feel comfortable communicating in both Swedish and English. Once you are introduced to the work, system readiness may be part of the service. You have a B driving license.
