Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. Vattenfall Vattenkraft is looking for a technology specialist in electric power to, for example, Jokkmokk, Luleå, Umeå, Östersund, Gävle, Västerås or Solna! You will be part of the Power Station Technology department, our focus is sustainable development and management of Vattenfall's hydropower stations. Right now we are about 20 employees with specialist knowledge in electricity production, hydropower and power station technology.

The work as a technology specialist is varied and there are good opportunities to be involved in influencing how we develop our facilities at a time when hydropower is a very important part of Sweden's total electricity mix.

Here are examples of tasks and responsibilities:

  • Set up functional requirements for electrical power equipment in the hydropower stations based on the needs of the power system and facilities
  • Develop and develop existing technical guidelines and requirement specifications
  • Status assessments of various components, such as transformers
  • Technical requirements in, for example, procurement
  • Work with continuous improvements and business intelligence.

You will participate in assignments that include feasibility studies, project implementation and commissioning. You may also offer your specialist knowledge to our maintenance and production activities, for example in investigations. Regular collaboration with colleagues, consultants, contractors and suppliers is part of everyday life and you will work both in your office and from our hydropower stations around the country.

Requirement specification

You are a civil or university engineer in electricity and energy, or you have equivalent knowledge acquired in another way.

Your technical area of specialization is electrical power and you have experience working with areas such as backup power, transformers and switchgear. It is a great advantage if you have worked with hydropower plants, large-scale industrial electricity plants and electricity generation. It may be an advantage if you have experience of technical advisory roles, work with feasibility studies and requirement specifications and that you are used to working in a project-oriented manner.

Your approach is characterized by a strong interest in your subject areas, initiative, cooperation, order and orderliness. You express yourself clearly in speech and writing (both in Swedish and English) and have a versatile and good IT habit. A B driving license is a requirement as travel by car is part of the work.

Location

The position can have a flexible location at one of Vattenfall Vattenkraft's offices, for example in Jokkmokk, Luleå, Umeå, Östersund, Gävle, Västerås or Solna.
