About the role

Vattenfall Services Teknikakademin is a newly started 7-month program where we give 12 new colleagues the chance to train to either Control Plant Engineer or Designer. The training includes both practical work at your prospective department and digital lectures supervised by University West.

The program starts in the autumn of 2025 with a joint introduction for all new employees. In addition to in-depth technical knowledge, you will also have a large network of both junior colleagues with whom you share the theoretical elements and experienced colleagues in your department.

As a Designer you will belong to a department consisting of several Designers whose main task is to draw the electrical design of substations and power stations in CAD. The designs include, among other things, circuit diagrams, connection tables, cabinet layout and relay block diagrams. It can be both complete electrical designs or design adaptations.

Vattenfall Services does not own its own switchgear or power stations but always works on customer facilities. We work mainly from the office but also carry out some field visits.

Requirement specification

We are looking for you who are driven, curious and motivated by problem solving. You should have a structured way of working with a focus on safety, with us at Vattenfall Services, safety always comes first. In addition to a technical interest, you must also be able to collaborate. As a Design Engineer, your work is influenced by other professional groups and therefore you need to be able to collaborate with various stakeholders, both internal and external.

We know that you will develop with us, but we would like to see that you already have:

• A minimum of a YH education in electrical power, electrical network design, preparation or project planning that ends no later than spring 2025. Alternatively, you are currently working as an industrial electrician, station or signal technician, designer in real estate, electricity or electric power, or as a preparer or designer.
• Good knowledge of both English and Swedish, both written and oral.
• B driving license.

Location

As Vattenfall Services is located all over the country, we are looking for new colleagues in several locations. Possible locations are Uppsala, Jordbro (Stockholm), Västerås, Motala or Malmö. Other locations may also be possible. Please indicate the desired location in your application.

About the program and the service

Teknikakademin is a company-adapted education that takes place together with Högskolan Väst in Trollhättan. The various courses of the education are examined and after the end of the program you receive 21 credits. The courses are done digitally and a few laboratory sessions will take place on site in Trollhättan and therefore you need to be able to travel during the training period.

To be admitted to the program, you will have to complete a knowledge verification in mathematics and electrical power.

We offer you a permanent position with an initial probationary period. You will receive a salary during the training period and after you have completed the training with approved results, you will continue to work in your department in a permanent position.
