About the role

In your role as an Operator with us, your employment will begin with an operational and process-oriented internal training aimed at the Ringhals plant. You will learn both the theoretical basics and get to follow a shift team in the daily work to manage operations, safety and production.

After the training, you will be an important part of a shift team, consisting of just over 25 people, who all have different roles in the work. The shift teams are responsible for the operational management and supervision of Ringhals nuclear power reactors and together you ensure that the plant produces safe electricity in wet and dry. You work according to a rolling shift schedule where the shifts are evenly distributed between morning, afternoon and night. During a shift period, you will work both weekdays and weekends. The period ends with a longer leave.

Your duties will initially include:

• Process monitoring from local control room
• Rounding of turbine and reactor systems
• Performing periodic tests of turbine and reactor systems
• Performing dismantling and resets of system parts
• Preparation and updating of operating instructions
• Participation in training and re-training

After a period of time, we see you further training to other operator roles and positions in the control room where you are responsible and supervise over different areas.

Requirement specification

About you

We would like you to have:

• Technical post-secondary education, preferably with a focus on power and heat technology, or electrical power, operating, mechanical or marine engineer
• Working life experience from, for example, the power and heating industry, shipping, paper and process industry
• Very good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing as well as reading comprehension.

As you will be working closely with different positions and departments, it is also important that you can build good relationships and see cooperation as a success factor. As the nature of the work can be fast-paced and at times stressful, it is important that you are able to remain calm and focused on the task at hand. During some shifts, the pace can also be calmer, we therefore see that you have the ability to identify what needs to be done, grab the task and drive the work forward.

You can further train as a turbine operator, assistant reactor operator, reactor operator, shift engineer and be authorized to take on the role of deputy shift manager and finally shift manager.Prior to these roles, you will undergo additional theoretical training and training in full-scale simulators.

You need to be able to get to the location at all times of the shift, even when public transport is not available.

Employment conditions: Probationary employment for the first 6 months, then permanent employment. Drug tests and medical checks will be carried out prior to employment.
