Job Description

Would you like to be part of a growing unit where you as a waste management engineer will work on strategic projects that affect the future of Forsmark, while supporting each other in solving problems and implementing new solutions.

Now we are looking for a Waste Engineer for the Infra Staff group at Forsmarks Kraftgrupp.

The Infra unit is mainly responsible for the management of system-bound low and intermediate level waste (liquid waste) and non-system-bound low and intermediate level waste (solid waste) nuclear waste, system-bound conventional waste (sanitary wastewater) decontamination and operations in the outer area.

Within the unit there is operational management responsibility, the outer area. The operations management is responsible for the operational and safety supervision of the plant and the activities within its own operations management area.

The unit is organizationally divided into four groups: Solid Waste, Water Management, External Facilities and Infra Staff. The Infra Stab group is a new group that is in an exciting build-up phase with many projects and investigations within the organization. We work with strategic goals towards the outer area of Forsmark, support in the event of errors/investigations that arise and ensure and drive that the facilities meet current requirements and comply with new requirements from authorities.

Your tasks

In your role as a waste management engineer, you will develop and communicate company-wide working methods that meet internal and external requirements, and if necessary, draw up company-wide instructions.

The responsibility includes following up and taking initiatives to develop routines and coordinate waste management within Forsmark.

  • understanding how different materials interrelate and affect each other
  • documentation, instructions and annual plans
  • work to ensure that waste management meets current regulatory requirements
  • participate in projects and run activities in waste
  • support the other group within Infra with investigations and assessments

Qualifications

We would like you to have

  • a university/civil engineering degree or have equivalent knowledge through work experience
  • experience working in industry with regulatory requirements
  • experience from a regulatory activity or from nuclear activities
  • good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing and basic knowledge of English
