You will be part of High Voltage Components (HC), a business unit within Hitachi Energy in Ludvika consisting of Surge Arresters and Capacitors.

At Surge Arresters in Ludvika we produce and sell valve arresters. New products are developed here and the markets are both in Sweden and in other parts of the world. A surge arrester protects against overvoltages and is an essential part of a reliable and energy-efficient power system. At Capacitors we finalize customized medium and high voltage capacitors for reactive power compensation and harmonic filtering and manufacture DC capacitors for HVDC applications worldwide.

Both operations have a high degree of automation with several robots, winding machines, electrical testing, process furnaces, fixtures, etc. and we produce around the clock in several sections of production. We are looking for an enterprising Automation Engineer to strengthen our staffing to meet the units' increasing order intake.

Your responsibilities

  • Drive automation improvements on our production lines and equipment, as well as our investment in Smart Maintenance.
  • Programming and configuring PLCs and HMI systems, as well as troubleshooting and optimizing our automation technology.
  • Working with other departments and external suppliers to drive initiatives that will maintain and improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Active work with our computerized maintenance system and automation software, and more.
  • Represent maintenance in new investment projects and rebuilds

Your background

  • You are driven and solution-oriented and should have relevant education and/or experience in automation.
  • You should enjoy working in a changing environment and multitask.
  • Experience working with automation in industrial production and have good IT skills.
  • To succeed in the job, you need to be results-focused and thrive in a production environment.
  • You should also be communicative in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written, with an ability to share your knowledge with the rest of the organization.
  • You are flexible, like to collaborate with others and have a positive attitude.
