The Opportunity

Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Engineer to join our close-knit team in Västerås. In this role you will configure (PCM600), install and sometimes also assemble medium and high voltage relay protection, RTUs and network switches at our customers in the Swedish market. This position gives you the opportunity to use your problem solving skills, while taking on a role in technical support and development for a system that is constantly evolving.

Grid Automation Service within Hitachi Energy in Västerås offers system solutions to protect and control power grids to customers in the transmission, distribution, wind and manufacturing industry segments. The unit's system solutions are based on our Relion® relay and control family products, network switches, and station and remote control with MicroSCADA and RTUs.

How you'll make an impact

  • As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the commissioning and activities of our commissioning projects (e.g. high voltage switchgear for utilities, industry, data centers, etc.).
  • You will also have opportunities to improve our quality and cost control by contributing to our commissioning and engineering processes and tools.
  • Live up to Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
  • You will travel within Sweden.

Your background

  • We would like you to have practical experience working with power systems.
  • You have a degree in a relevant electrical field.
  • You have a good general technical understanding and are eager to learn more.
  • As a person you are enthusiastic, determined and have a positive attitude.
  • We work mainly with Swedish customers, so very good knowledge of Swedish is required and if you also have English skills, it is an advantage.
