About the position

As Head of Systems Development, you will have a central role in being responsible for the design, development, testing and operation of the IT systems that monitor and control the production processes at SSAB in Borlänge. Your main responsibility is to lead and develop a group of 20 system developers with a focus on .Net development with C# as programming language and management of a number of systems with OpenVMS as platform.

SSAB's ongoing journey towards fossil-free steel production will eventually result in a new IT landscape. Together with colleagues in the management team for Division IT Sweden, you will be a driving force in the organization's transition to the new IT landscape and the ongoing work to further develop the organization's working methods.

Your main responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize and lead the System Development organization at SSAB in Borlänge.
• Continuously work to develop both individuals and the organization towards future requirements.
• Work with continuous improvements and be a driving force in further developing the department in both working methods and technology.
• Ensure a functioning system management, that project deliveries are made on time and a good operational stability of the IT systems.
• Together with other colleagues in the management team plan and implement the Division's IT strategy.

About you

• You have an education in a field related to computer science or equivalent work experience.
• You have a few years of experience from a leading role in an IT organization and preferably with managerial responsibility.
• You are solution-oriented and have good communication skills.
• You have good collaboration skills and are happy to collaborate with other departments.
• You master Swedish and English both in speech and writing.
• It is an advantage if you have previous experience in the process industry or industrial IT systems.
• You have a genuine interest in working with the development of both individuals and groups.
